My dad came home from class one day with a painting assignment on his mind - he saw my uncle working at his desk and chose to capture that moment. Brush to canvas. ⏩⏩ My Uncle Steve passed away just a few years ago (sadly, far too soon) and this painting that has hung in the Jappe household for as long as I remember, became that much more significant. ⏩⏩⏩ A woman reached out recently, after seen this painting in the hall at @schmidtartists lofts . While my dad had no intention of ever selling this piece, she expressed how much it caught her eye because it brought to mind HER brother, who had passed at too young of an age. She shared this knowing nothing about my uncle. My dad had a chance to share his story of the painting with her and they bonded over art and the loss of a loved one, a brother no less. ⏩⏩⏩⏩ Helping pack it up today brought tears to all our eyes.
